Sponge and Press

What does one do with a bespoke garment that needs a bit of cleaning, but you do not want your garment put into a dry cleaning machine?

Sponge and press. This process has been around since Victorian times and can be used instead of dry cleaning in certain cases.

Jeeves New York is well versed in the art of sponge and press cleaning. This process involves removing stains & spots from your suit by hand, lightly cleaning the entire garment by hand and finishing up with a hand press and steam.

At Jeeves our sponge and press service is called the Perfect Suit and was developed so that delicate hand stitch-work is not subject to the rigors of a dry cleaning machine. Jeeves service was profiled in the Robb Report.

Light colored garments or garments that are heavily stained, may not be fully cleaned using this process. The Jeeves staff will advise you on the appropriate process once your garment arrives at our shop. Jeeves' Perfect Suit or sponge & press is available nationwide utilizing our shipping services.
