Jeeves received a call a few weeks ago to assist with the cleaning of the costumes for Downton Abbey; The Exhibition. For bespoke, hand-crafted garments, such as Cesar Attolini, Brioni and Kiton, Jeeves’ offers “Sponge & Press” service whereas your garment is completely hand-cleaned and hand-finished, and never cleaned in a machine.

Jeeves’ research has found that delicate hand-stitching cannot be subjected to machine cleaning on a regular basis otherwise it becomes loose. Jeeves developed this service whilst working with Enrico Libani the director of US operations at Cesare Attolini.

Silk ties and pocket squares are cleaned by hand and steamed lightly to preserve the original drape and bias cut.
