From fur trim, beads and sequins, to silk, leather and cashmere, women's garments are all about the details. Jeeves knows that every single detail requires a level of care, far beyond the washing of a gentleman’s shirt. You don't worry when you are purchasing your wardrobe. Now, you don't need to worry when you are having it cleaned.
Every garment brought through the door at Jeeves, is evaluated by our staff and discussed with you, to ensure the most appropriate cleaning method is chosen. In some cases, your garment will be entirely hand cleaned if deemed to risky or delicate to be cleaned otherwise.
The attention to detail, and our staff’s dedication to keeping your wardrobe looking brand new, is what makes the process at Jeeves extremely unique. No other dry cleaning firm in New York does what Jeeves does, and we pride ourselves on your satisfaction
Jeeves can assist a gentleman in the proper care of his wardrobe far beyond what a neighborhood dry cleaner can do.
Our shirt service rivals a proper home laundress, as our professional irons exceed the quality of pressing that can be achieved at home. Shirts from Jeeves can be returned to you on hangers or folded & boxed.
It is at the recommendation of style experts that your suits be cleaned as infrequently as possible, some suggesting no more that twice yearly. What to do if your suit picks up an odd odor or a random food stain?
Jeeves’ dry cleaning process is unique and does not subject your suit to the rigors of traditional cleaning. Jeeves’ liquid CO2 dry cleaning method is heat free and does not machine tumble your suit for over an hour. (Traditional dry cleaning methods use 140 degree heat and tumbling to remove the solvents from your garments.)
For bespoke, hand-crafted garments, such as Cesar Attolini, Brioni and Kiton, Jeeves’ offers the “Perfect Suit” service whereas your garment is completely hand-cleaned and hand-finished, and never cleaned in a machine.
Jeeves’ research has found that delicate hand-stitching cannot be subjected to machine cleaning on a regular basis otherwise it becomes loose. Jeeves developed this service whilst working with Enrico Libani the director of US operations at Cesare Attolini.
Silk ties and pocket squares are cleaned by hand and steamed lightly to preserve the original drape. Ties are returned hand rolled to prevent creases.
Outerwear, casual wear and shoes can also benefit from the careful craftsmanship that Jeeves provides. Please do contact us with your questions about how to care for your wardrobe, it would be our honor to assist you.
Seven Tips to Save your Wedding Dress Forever
1. Have your dress cleaned professionally, soon after your wedding.
There is no need to run to the dry cleaner the next day. However, be sure not to leave your dress on the back of your bedroom door for two years. Eventually, stains do set and become nearly impossible to remove.
2. Never store your dress, for any length of time, in a plastic bag.
Jeeves has regrettably seen too many wedding dresses become stained with mold, after being stored in plastic.
3. Use an expert for wedding dress cleaning.
The place down the road, that you bring your husband's shirts to, simply won't do. (*See tip number four.)
4. Run away from any dry cleaner who posts a sign that states, "We are not responsible for buttons, beads and trim".
Simply put, if they are professionals, then why are they not responsible?
5. Don't use a cleaner who preserves your dress and doesn't allow you to open the storage box.
What do you do when your daughter is seven and wants to see your wedding dress?
6. Wash your hands or wear cotton gloves before handling your cleaned wedding dress.
Oil from your hands has the ability to discolor your dress over time.
7. Never store your dress in an attic or a basement.
Attics are always too hot, and basements too damp. No exceptions. As a matter of fact, even finished basements that look dry are too damp.
Our shirt service is, quite simply, the finest of them all. It starts with a pre-wash inspection, followed by grading & treatment, and is completed with hand finishing.
We promise to make your morning ritual of dressing a pleasing and happy experience. Our shirt service guarantees a 'ready-to-wear' shirt with clean, crisp, collars and cuffs as well as a professional finish that will make you look and feel your very best.
Why Our Service?
Your shirts will last 30-40% longer
Our process is specifically formulated to work at lower water temperatures without using harsh bleaches. Our process significantly reduces fading and fraying over time. As a result, your shirts will last 30-40% longer as our cleaning formula is gentler on the fabric.
Cleaner, brighter shirts every time.
The real difference between Jeeves' shirt service and all the others is not what you will see over time, but rather what you see every time. Cleaner, brighter dress shirts and brilliant whites! Quite simply, your shirts will look their best longer and so will you.
Our state-of-the-art finishing equipment was designed to tend to every detail of a shirt. Collars and cuffs are precisely pressed and rolled to perfection. Every shirt is hand-finished and packed to customer request.
No fabric has the appeal of a top quality fine leather or suede garment. Whether the style is sporty, casual or formal, Jeeves can professionally clean your leather or suede.
Jeeves services include:
Cleaning of any suede or leather item.
Dye & finish restoration.
Repair of rips and tears.
Replacement of worn/torn linings.
Exclusive "Suede to Leather" process. Any suede item can be transformed into leather.
Application of "Rain & Stain", to protect your investment.
A leather of suede garment is a major investment so it is important to choose it carefully and care for it wisely:
Protect the collar area from perspiration and body oils with a scarf or high shirt collar.
Suede and sheepskin can benefit from a good stiff brush after wearing to remove surface dirt and keep the nap free.
Leather needs wiping with a damp cloth to remove surface dirt. When dry apply a special leather polish.
A small stain on suede may be removed with a hard Indian rubber using a gentle circular motion.
If wet, hang to dry away from direct heat. Store under a clean cotton cover, never plastic. The skin needs to breath.
If stained, take to a professional suede and leather cleaner like Jeeves straight away.
